Things to Do in Cancun

Cancun offers a plethora of activities to make your vacation unforgettable. One of the most thrilling experiences is swimming with whale sharks. From May to September, these gentle giants come close to Cancun's coast, and several tour operators offer opportunities to observe and even swim with them, ensuring all safety measures are in place.

For a unique day trip, visit Las Coloradas and Río Lagartos. These destinations are famous for their pink-algae salt lakes and high salt hills. You can capture stunning photos of flamingos and other local species like pelicans, eagles, and crocodiles. The trip also includes a boat ride through the Río Lagartos reserve, a Mayan mud bath, and a delicious seafood lunch prepared by local villagers.

Aquaworld is the ultimate destination for water sports enthusiasts. Whether you prefer swimming, sailing, kayaking, windsurfing, or jet-skiing, Cancun's warm, turquoise waters offer endless possibilities. You can also try deep-sea fishing, sunset cruises, or diving in Cozumel, a renowned diving paradise. Don't miss the jungle tour through the Nichupte Lagoon, where you can captain your own boat.

If swimming with dolphins is on your bucket list, head to Dolphinaris Cancún. Here, you can interact with these intelligent creatures, become a trainer for a day, and follow their daily routines. It's an unforgettable experience for both kids and adults.

The Interactive Aquarium of Cancún offers a unique opportunity to get up close with sea creatures. You can touch starfish and sea urchins, swim with dolphins, or watch them perform. With over 140 species on display, the aquarium is open year-round, making it a must-visit attraction.

Where to Go Out / Nightlife in Cancun

Cancun's nightlife is as vibrant as its beaches. Start your evening at Monkey Business, an informal bar and restaurant in the Hotel Zone. Enjoy a variety of drinks, burgers, and quesadillas, along with live music and shisha, before heading to the nightclubs.

The City Nightclub Cancun is the largest nightclub in Latin America, accommodating up to 6,000 people across three levels. With a 1,000,000-watt sound system, massive video screens, world-class acts, themed nights, and foam parties, it promises an unforgettable night.

Coco Bongo offers a unique nightlife experience. Instead of a typical dance floor, it features musical performances by local artists impersonating famous singers and actors, along with dancers, trapeze artists, and gymnasts, creating a memorable atmosphere.

For a guided nightlife experience, try Cuncrawl. Experienced guides will take you to the trendiest bars and nightclubs, offering an open bar tab and the chance to meet new people and discover new places.

D'Cave is another popular spot, known for its trendy interiors, laser effects, and a mix of 80s, 90s, hip-hop, and dance tunes spun by experienced DJs.

On a 12-night stay, our first week at the resort was amazing! We loved the pools, beach, dinner options and I could tell the staff worked hard to clean up. There was always someone washing windows/mirrors and sweeping somewhere. We loved that the buffet has a HUGE variety! It was fun to try new things but know there were some things we knew we would like too. That was my 7-year-old's FAVORITE place to eat! We loved the Spa! My girls got pretty burnt our 3rd day in and we had brought aloe from home because I usually fry. At the spa, we went to have manicures, and the most amazing employee took one look at my daughter's face and excused himself. He was back with a much better aloe than ours! Within minutes of him applying it, there was a dramatic difference! On the way out, he gave us a small dish to reapply later. It was so amazing I came back before the day was over and bought a bottle! I had 2 amazing massages here, relaxed in one of their hot tubs and wanted a facial but we ran out of time. The massages included time in a dry sauna and a steam room before each massage. Their colors for our manicures and my pedicure were not abundant but they do have good colors with the ones they have. The evening shows were very entertaining for all ages! We loved the organized soccer and volleyball every afternoon!! The kids got a kick out of the swim-up bars!

We booked our trip to Cancun and stayed at this hotel, the location is very convenient, very close to a lot of things to do. Affordable, the staff was very professional, the cleaning crew was very friendly, respectful and kind. Overall advice, if you are travelling there, have plenty of cash, that way you can have Mexican Pesos for easy transactions. It is okay to have a few US dollars / Euros but...
