About Phoenix

Overview

Phoenix, Arizona, United States of America, is a unique destination known for its year-round warm weather. While summer temperatures can soar above 100 degrees, the dry heat is far more bearable than humid climates. As the most populous state capital in the U.S., Phoenix boasts a diverse array of cultures and activities. The city is beautifully set against the backdrop of the Sonoran Desert, with sandy mountain ranges and perpetually blue skies enhancing every drive or walk.

Currently, the average price of hotels in Phoenix is $128, with options ranging from $51 to $475. With a total of 159 hotels, visitors have plenty of choices to suit their preferences and budgets. Popular neighborhoods for accommodations include Downtown Phoenix, North Mountain, Camelback East, Deer Valley, and Midtown. Some of the most sought-after hotels are the Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Phoenix North Scottsdale, an IHG Hotel, Egyptian Motor Hotel, Bw Signature Collection, Howard Johnson by Wyndham Phoenix Airport/Downtown Area, Best Western Plus Scottsdale Thunderbird Suites, and Sleep Inn at North Scottsdale Road.

One of the must-visit spots is Camelback Mountain, which stands at 2,704 feet and is centrally located in the Phoenix Valley. The mountain offers two challenging trails—Echo Canyon and Cholla—each providing stunning panoramic views of the landscape and city. Guided hikes are also available for those who prefer a more structured experience.

These scenic flights over the Valley of the Sun are available seven days a week, with options for sunrise or sunset flights. Each package lasts between 2 and 4 hours, including pick-up and drop-off, and offers an hour of in-air flight time. Advance booking is required.

The Heard Museum is another must-see, dedicated to preserving Native American culture with historical accuracy and sensitivity since 1929. The museum collaborates with Native peoples from the Phoenix area to offer educational programs, exhibits, and festivals. Native artists and communities contribute stunning art and first-person perspectives. On the first Friday of every month, except March, admission is free from 6 to 10 pm.

Be cautious, as the road is shared with bikers and hikers and contains steep sections and blind curves.

The desk clerk was patient and helpful when I had an issue with my payment card and was friendly and accommodating of my needs. My stay was short, but the accommodations were nice, although showing age in some places. I would have liked for the restaurant and bar to be open a little later than 10 pm to avoid needing to leave, but it wasn't too big a deal. Finally, I really appreciated the kindness of Anthony, the security guard on duty. I was grieving and thought I was alone on the 4th floor overlooking the pool while I was crying really hard. He heard me crying and followed me to be sure I was safe. He literally talked me off the ledge (although I wasn't going to jump, but he didn't know that for sure), and his kindness brought me back to a more relaxed state. He deserves a medal just for listening to me when he could have just ignored me or followed me from a distance. Thank you, Anthony.

Marcus, our bartender, was so attentive, saw us coming, and always had a drink ready to go before we sat down. Created fun shots and cocktails for us to explore. Such a friendly soul, amazing person. The lady at the host stand helped me with my button on my shirt and even came back to help more! She was so sweet. I think her name was Jordyn. Sorry, can’t remember her name. Pool service was great as well.

The first room we checked into smelled of cigarette smoke, but the front desk was great about immediately switching us to another room. Great view, lots of space! Love the rooftop pool, poolside service, custom cooked breakfast and daily credit! Love the dog-friendly/no pet fees feature, and the happy hour in the hotel lobby each day was a nice touch- we felt spoiled!

Fantastic room, facility, and staff. The only downside is the parking but it is not the hotels fault, and was easily solved.

I liked how well-decorated and modern the property was. The bed was comfortable, and the hotel had character and felt clean. It didn’t feel like they were cutting corners for the price point. Because of that, I would definitely stay there again. I liked that there was a place to eat downstairs and a rooftop bar open late. The staff were friendly and helpful.
